Project Overview

Located in Mexico City, Mexico, Wilkins Medical Center is a 20,000-square-foot healthcare interior project that merges office architecture and interior design into a unified spatial experience. The client’s vision was clear: to create a medical center where patients feel relaxed, comfortable, and at ease—more like entering a wellness retreat than a traditional clinical environment.

The design approach balances operational efficiency with atmosphere, ensuring that functionality, circulation, and medical requirements coexist seamlessly with warmth, light, and visual calm.

Design Concept & Spatial Language

The interior design is driven by clarity and cohesion. Straight architectural lines and carefully placed accent lighting are used to unify irregular geometries, seamlessly connecting ceilings, walls, and custom furniture into a coherent design narrative.

This disciplined approach allows the space to feel organized and intuitive, reducing visual noise while enhancing orientation and comfort for patients and staff alike.

Through the strategic use of straight lines and accent lighting, we successfully unify a variety of irregular shapes, seamlessly connecting ceilings, walls, and furniture into a coherent design narrative.

Lobby & Public Spaces

The main lobby establishes the tone for the entire medical center. Designed using the same architectural language as the rest of the facility, it creates continuity and reinforces a sense of calm from the moment visitors arrive.

Lighting, proportion, and material restraint work together to create a welcoming environment that eases anxiety and supports a positive first impression.

The medical center lobby was strategically designed with the same design elements of the rest of the building.

Art, Wellness & Atmosphere

At the heart of the lobby, Angel of Life, a sculpture by Mexican artist Urbieta, serves as a focal point and emotional anchor. The artwork introduces a sense of serenity and reflection, reinforcing the project’s goal of humanizing healthcare environments.

By integrating art into the architectural composition, the design elevates the space beyond functionality—creating an atmosphere that is peaceful, dignified, and restorative.
